Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

For Christmas I am making Riley blocks. The blocks have been sitting on the floor in my craft room for a few weeks. Just the other day Riley discovered them. At least I know Rily is going to like his Christmas present.

Riley is so helpful! We were out clearing the walks and he went to the garage, grabbed a shovel, and promptly reterned to help.

Yes, that is broccoli he is eatting!!! The kid loves food with flavor, he loves pickles, and yes Frank's hot sause. He doesn't like cheese though! He will instantly spit the cheese out and gage.

As much as I do not like the cold, the snow can be pretty fun! We have a drainage pit by our house that we can go sleding at. Riley thinks it is fun to just be pulling around the yard in the sled though.

Riley loves to climb on the couch and hide behind the pillows. He will also climb on the couch and turn the lights on and off.

Every year growing up my mom, and Nicolas' mom would make or buy us a special Christmas Ornement. I always loved the tradition, and have kept it up. Riley loves snowmen so I thought it was fitting to make this years ornements snowmen!!
My snowman (or I guess I should say my snowwomen) is the one with the green hat and scarf, Nicolas' is the one with the red hat and scarf, and Riley's is the one with the blue hat and scarf.

One of Riley's favorite animals is a duck. So for halloween we dressed him as a duck. I could not find any yellow cloths so I had to make his costume.

My mom works at an elemantry school here in town, and they had a halloween parade on Thurday. Riley and I went and he loved all the attention. He was a little scared of the 5th and 6th graders though.

Riley loves fruit and veggies! Apples, Bananas, potatos, any thing.

We carved our pumkins on Saturday. Riley thought it was fun, but he would not touch the pumkin guts!

(Don't) Save the Trees

This weeked we cut down the two poplar trees that were in our yard. They were both only ~10ft tall when we moved in this March, and by the end of the summer they were ~25ft tall! Since poplars get to be about 100ft tall, we figured we had better chop em' down before it was too late. Here are some pictures of the adventure:

Gotta love Idaho weather!!

Not even a week ago we went to the zoo with my friend and her boys. It was like 79 degrees and sunny. We walked around the zoo with short sleeved shirts and flip flops. Then this morning we woke up to snow!! All morning long Riley was glued to the window longing to go out side and see what the white stuff falling from the sky was. I told Riley it was snow, and he instantly started to say snow, only he left off the "s" sound so it sounded closer to "no, no". Before the snow melted we went out side and built a little snow man.

The Greatest Accomplishment of My Life!

Tiffany and I went to Pocatello last weekend and while we were down there we played the Ross Park disc golf course. Now some of you may think that disc golf (aka "Frisbee" golf) is just a leisure sport like croquette, but it's actually a fast growing sport with professional organizations, tournaments, and honest to goodness people who make a living at it. Now I am not one of those people, but I do own a couple hundred dollars worth of special discs for the sport and I have been accused of being "obsessed". This accusation is not true by the way...whatever the case is, on hole number five I stood at the tee and pulled out my fastest disc: the Excalibur! There were large trees blocking my view of the pin which was 265 feet away. Undaunted, I put a slight angle on the release of my drive knowing that the disc would bank around the trees and hopefully land near the hole (it's called a "hyzer" in disc golf lingo). I released the disc with a fast forehand drive, the disc banked around the trees as intended, and then I heard a telltale "clang". It was at that moment that I knew I had my first hole in one! The best part, Tiffany was there to witness it so nobody can call me a liar. Below is a picture at the pin, you can still see the disc in the basket.

A Quick Message from Our Sponsor

OK, so you have all been enjoying high quality social networking out here on Nick and Tiff's Blog for over a year now absolutely free of charge, but posting all of the cute pictures of Riley was really just a draw for advertising purposes, kinda manipilative I know, but here's the deal. We own/manage a cute yellow fourplex near Tautphus park in Idaho Falls and we have a unit available for rent. We will also have another unit available for rent in mid October. Here is the description:

Nice 2 bedroom apartments in central Idaho Falls near Tautphaus Park. Each unit has a large main room, tile kitchen, hookups for laundry, 2 bedrooms, bathroom with bath/shower combo, plenty of closet/cabinet space, and a fully enclosed one car garage. 800+ square feet not counting the garage. The lower left unit is available for rent immediately, the lower right unit will be available on or after October 15th. Call Nick at 360-0624.

$450/month, 6 month lease, $300 security deposit, Utilities are not included, No smoking, No pets

I'm just kidding, our blog doesn't exist for the sole purpose of advertising, but I figured it was a good place to get the word out. They really are nice apartments, we keep them in good repair and actually used to live in one of the units ourselves. If you are interested in the apartments, or know somebody who may be, give Nick a call at 208-360-0624. Thanks,

Riley likes anything that goes "vroom vroom". Here he is trying to drive grandpa's corvette:

I am trying to figure out how to get my text to line up right, so here are some random pictures:

1) Picture 1, Riley on a "vroom vroom"

2) Picture 2, Riley pushing a "vroom vroom"

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I can't get the captions to line up with my pictures!! How frustrating!

We have been super busy the last few weeks! We have been gone doing family stuff, fixing more sprinklers, taking swimming lessons, and cleaning the apartments. About three weeks ago we went to Raging Waters in Utah for a family reunion, two weekends ago we went hiking with my dad, and brother. Sadly no one made it to the top of the mountain we had planned to sumit. Then last weekend we went to the cabin again. Last week we had a tenant move out, and so far I have spent 15 hours cleaning! Which in my book is way too much. And for the past four weeks I took swimming lessons. I never really learned as a kid and I figured it is never too late to learn. I really enjoyed the classes, and can now attempt at least three different strokes.

While we were at the family reunion we went to the Hogle zoo!

While at Raging waters we put Riley in the middle of all the clear tubes. He thought it was pretty fun.

Riley loved the water! He loves "swimming". The little float toy alowed him to be on his tummy, and he would flip his little legs like he was trying to swim. It was cute, and we all had a lot of fun.

This is a picture of all the kids that went to the zoo.

Riley was "helping" fix the sprinklers again.

Riley's first ride on a four wheeler. He loved it.

We went down to the river and threw rocks into the water.
When we went camping with my dad and brother, this was the mountain we failed to make it to.
The trail on the way back down.

We have had a fun summer. We have gone to the Zoo a few time now and Riley loves the animals. We also went to my husbands grandparents cabin a few weeks ago.

While we were at the zoo with Grandma Adrienne, Pauline, and Trenton we got to see the tigers play fight. They were growling and batting at each other it was pretty cool to watch.

Riley liked the Zebra.

This little Flamingo chick was only two days old. Pretty cute!!

Family photo on the chicken.

I really think Riley's favorite animal at the zoo was this rooster. He would walk back over to it when we would move on.

Riley was a little scared while feeding the goats. He still feed them but he was a little timid. I think it was because the goats had such bad breath!

Riley loves his fruits and vegies. He was facinated by the green top on the carrot. This was his firts experience with a home grown carrot.

At the cabin there is a pool table. Riley had a blast picking up the pool balls and puting it in the corner pocket.

Matching boys! Riley and Trenton are six months apart. They are pretty cute!

We rafted down the River while we were at the cabin. Riley and Trenton loved it at first but, got board towards the end and started to whine.
